Dolores, Colorado

Overview:

You will find Dolores approximately 40 miles from the Four Corners Monument, located at the mouth of the Dolores Valley. "Rio de Nuestra Senora de las Dolores" or The River of Our Lady of Sorrows, has carved a magnificent canyon with rock cliffs and is the only river in the U.S. to first run south and then turn north. From the late 1800's to the early 1900's, the town accommodated the Rio Grande Southern Railway and helped with transportation of silver, freight, passengers and the U.S. mail.

Attractions:

Explore your adventurous side by taking a white water rafting trip, explore ancient ruins, fish the Dolores River or bike the 40 mile trail near town. Take a short drive west of town to McPhee Reservoir, the second largest reservoir in the state, and indulge in some lake-side camping. Try your luck by taking a half hour drive to the Ute Mountain Casino.

Real Estate:

Plenty of residential homes, including mobile and manufactures. You will also find a wealth of vacant land and lots with prime mountain country landscapes. Though condos and townhomes are available, there is low inventory for these types of homes.
